Sophie’s Picks:
– Mars Chocolate Engineering Internship, Mars Inc.
– Accounting/Finance Internships with Johnson & Johnson
Fall is generally an exciting time for engineering and finance students – it is the season to start applying for summer internships! Starting to network, to interview, and then to apply to places may seem daunting; but we have a wide variety of PAID internships lined up at your disposal. I will be highlighting two amazing companies that have applications due on the BRIDGE before the Bucknell Career Expo on Tuesday, September 24th. That way, you will have enough time to impress them both on paper and in person!
For those of you rising seniors near Hackettstown, New Jersey, Mars Inc. is offering an engineer student the opportunity to lead fundamental executional activities of products as an active member of the Central Engineering community, the local engineering team, and the project teams currently assigned. The company famous for M&M’s, Wrigley gum, Twix, Milky Way, Dove, Starburst’s, and even more is seeking someone to “deploy his/her engineering know-how to successfully support the execution of projects to the business that deliver a sustained technical competitive advantage”.
In addition to furthering your engineering skill sets, you will be able to learn about the Mars culture, how to manage multiple construction activities while delivering safe, secure, and environmentally responsible results, and most importantly, to put into play your degree in either mechanical, chemical, electrical, or a food process related engineering field.
Mars Inc. acknowledges that their workplace is a place where you take responsibility for your work, communicate openly, feel the pressure of a fast pace, and where you are deemed and treated like an “associate”. If this all sounds like something you would be interested in, apply for this internship on Monday, September 16th by 11:59 PM!
As for those freshmen, sophomores, or juniors who are interested in finance, accounting/auditing, or being an analyst, Johnson & Johnson is offering an internship in many locations throughout the U.S. Johnson & Johnson is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly based manufacturer of health care products as well as a provider of related services, for the consumer, pharmaceutical, and medical devices and diagnostics markets. This 10-12 week program prompts students to develop leadership skills, put into practice the concepts they learned in school, and also sets up the interns to be feeders for entrance into either their Finance Leadership Development Program or Financial Leadership Development program.
Not only are you building connections and becoming more proficient in your area of study, but also you will have the chance to see if budgeting, managing projects, and research in a large corporate setting is the right place for you. Don’t forget that the application for this summer internship is due Monday, September 23rd by 11:59 PM!
