Student applications are encouraged for Katherine Mabis McKenna Environmental Internships for the summer of 2011. Interns receive a $3000 stipend and may arrange a free residence hall room during the summer participation period. Successful applicants will be expected to engage in an independent research project of approximately 10 weeks duration under the sponsorship of a faculty member. Students must still be enrolled at Bucknell; graduating seniors are not eligible unless they have committed to attending graduate school at Bucknell.
Project proposals from a wide variety of disciplines will be considered for funding. Research efforts should fall under the general heading of environmental studies and should focus on the West Branch Susquehanna River Bioregion, although there is some flexibility with this criterion. It is recommended that students contact potential advisors as soon as possible to discuss potential projects.
Applications and more information can be found at http://www.bucknell.edu/x1734.xml.
Questions should be directed to Professor Carl Kirby (kirby@bucknell.edu).
All application materials should go by email to Linda Mertz (lmertz@bucknell.edu) by Wednesday, February 4, 2011.
