Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announces 2 paid summer internships

The DHS HS-STEM Summer Internship Program provides a 10-week summer research experience for undergraduate students majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) disciplines. Students will have the opportunity to conduct research in DHS mission-relevant areas at various federal research facilities. Participants receive a stipend of $500 each week plus transportation expenses to/from their internship location. Application Deadline is January 5, 2010

Studio for Innovative Design of Intelligent Systems

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is exploring new layouts for laboratory space and is considering transforming the three bays that make up Dana 147, 149 and 149a into a Studio for the Innovative Design of Intelligent Systems. Many students have worked with Professors Shooter, Buffinton and Kim in these labs over the years, and they may have some great ideas for laying out the space. Be a part of Princeton in Africa – Exciting Fellowship Opportunities

Princeton in Africa (PiAf) offers yearlong fellowship opportunities with a variety of organizations that work across the African continent. PiAf Fellows work in service-oriented positions in many different fields, including humanitarian aid, public health, conservation, and education. Since its launch in 1999, PiAf has placed almost 200 Fellows in 28 countries. Graduating seniors from any U.S. college or university are eligible to apply.

Coming in at #5: Bucknell University (Lewisburg, PA) – Students and custodians of Hunt Hall at Bucknell University claim a ghost has been haunting the building for more than 20 years. Custodians claim the phenomena is most active during the summer months, when students are away. Custodians report tools being hidden inexplicably and lights turning off on them while they work. Two Great Fellowship Opportunities in D.C.

Both fellowships are year-long, full-time, salaried positions at our office in Washington, DC. Selected fellows will receive a compensatory package that includes an annual salary of $38,000 and excellent health care benefits.
